Round one completed at MORBC, and what a great meeting!
With 52 buggies and 10 truggies entered, this was a great meeting that also doubled as a warm-up for the
National Titles being held the following weekend. Because of this, there were a number of drivers from the
eastern states competing at this round.
The track held up really well, and the racing was close. Martin Wolhuter TQ'ed in buggies, and Haley TQ'ed
in the truggies. Wolhuter went on to win the first round buggies, Dale Smulders 2nd and Logan Bruecher 3rd.
Haley had a breakdown in the truggy final, and Jordan Cvetanoski went on to win round one truggies, with
Michael Gaull 2nd and Murray Beattie 3rd.

What is the Challenge Cup...
Started in 2007, a consortium of Western
Australias major RC racing Clubs have banded together to solidify and
promote
RC racing in WA. This initiative is aimed at supporting regional clubs, and
to promote our sport and hobby
of RC, and to re-kindle interest within existing enthusiasts whilst attracting
newcomers to the sport.
There
will be an overall series winner decided after all the events for the year
have been run. This winner will be
declared based on total Laps for all the events. And of course there
will be a Series Winner for each
participating class - buggy and truggy. The aim of the Series is to make it
an annual WA RC event
with Series Champion Cups being perpetual, and we are confident that this
type of non sanctioned event will
stimulate growth, vibrancy and more challenges to the sport of RC in WA.
